 The achievement of the highest quality standards has always been at the heart of Metalite's operation. In the early days when the company was supplying the UK Royal Air Force's first battery powered portable landing light, Metalite was registered to the defence standard AQAP 9. Then in the mid 90s compliance and certification to the quality standard ISO 9001: 1994 was achieved. Today the company is registered to the latest standard of ISO 9001: 2000 with all aspects of the business covered from design through to manufacturing and test.
The eight principles identified by the ISO committee and listed below are followed throughout the company in order to better achieve the objectives of this latest quality standard.

- LEADERSHIP - The purpose of the company is understood by all employees who follow the direction and leadership provided by senior management.
- EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT - All employees are involved in helping the company to meet its objectives. Metalite works hard to help develop an individual's full potential and then to use these abilities to maximum benefit.
- PROCESS APPROACH - Activities and related resources are managed as a process thus achieving improved outputs that better meet our customer's defined quality of both product and service.
- SYSTEM APPROACH TO MANAGEMENT - In order to effectively and efficiently achieve objectives Metalite uses a system approach, which identifies, understands and manages interrelated processes within the company.
- CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT - Continual improvement of the company's overall performance is a permanent objective.
- FACTUAL APPROACH TO DECISION MAKING - Data and information is collected and analysed logically in order to facilitate a factual approach to decision making.
- MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP - To benefit all parties Metalite strives for a mutually beneficial relationship with its suppliers.
